Jessica Sin Sook Kuan is a professional working in the investments industry. She graduated with a Bachelor of Economics degree (majoring in Finance) from the University of Queensland in Australia as well as a Masters in Business Administration from Quantic School of Business & Technology in United States, both with full scholarships awarded by the respective institutions. She carries with her 7 years of industry experience, having worked in institutional funds (including Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund) and several investment banks, in areas such as investment management and corporate finance. She has analysed startups for investment purposes in the venture capital space, as well as managed portfolio companies those in other industries. She also provided financial and capital markets-related advice to listed entities in Malaysian stock market for various corporate transactions including corporate restructuring, equity and debt fundraising, mergers and acquisitions and IPOs. Currently, she is working with an investment management startup to enhance the investing experience of both retail and institutional investors. She has years of experience teaching others about personal finance & investing from beginner level to advanced level, across areas including stocks and cryptocurrencies. She hopes to inspire more people to take the step towards building their own wealth instead of just leaving their money in cash or bank accounts, which may not be able to beat inflation. To her, the power of compounding as well as the analysis of market cycles are the most interesting elements of financial markets.
